Dior Cruise 2027 Collection – Makeup Backstage by Peter Philips
DIOR
PRESENTS
MAKEUP FOR THE
CRUISE 2027 COLLECTION

For 2027 and the first Cruise collection designed by Jonathan Anderson for Dior in Los Angeles, Peter Philips created makeup looks for the male and female models in the show, held outside at the new wing of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). He described “A luminous, natural look, highlighted with touches of radiance, inspired by a strong collection and a cinematic fifties-style décor.”
WOMEN
Complexion
For the women’s look, Peter Philips created “a pure, even and luminous complexion by applying Dior Les Patchs Yeux on the eye area, then prepping the skin with the Dior Capture routine, using Le Sérum followed by La Crème Fine. I evened out the complexion with Dior Forever Skin Glow and applied Dior Forever Skin Correct for touch-ups. To revive natural radiance on the cheekbones, I then applied a light touch of Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Stick blending it into the skin, in either – 006 Berry, 012 Rosewood or 063 Pink Lilac depending on the skin tone. Finally, I sprayed Dior Backstage Air Flash Mist which locks-in the makeup and adds a fresh finish to the complexion.”
Eyes
Peter Philips describes “Wide-open natural looking eyes, with curled eyelashes, subtly emphasized with a touch of brown at the lash line, using Diorshow 5 Couleurs 559 Poncho. Then, I brightened the upper eyelid with Diorshow 5 Couleurs 649 Nude Dress. Eyebrows were tidied with the Diorshow Brow Styler and Diorshow On Set Brow.”
On some of the girls’ upper eyelids, I also drew a line of crystals positioned at the lashline and extending ever so slightly outward.
Lips
Lips looked natural, heightened with Dior Addict Lip Maximizer 001 Pink.
Nails
Hands and nails were prepped with Dior Huile Abricot and Dior Le Baume followed by an application of Dior Base Vernis, Dior Top Coat and Dior Nail Glow. Three manicure styles were presented: two bold looks featured alongside a natural version. Jonathan Anderson recreated Dior’s famous “newspaper” print on some girls’ nails, while others sported a “tortoiseshell” effect to match their clutches. The neutral look was achieved with Dior Vernis 108 Muguet.
Hair
Hair was worn long, hanging down the models’ backs in natural waves that leaned towards surfer-style.
MEN
A natural grooming look highlighted an even and luminous complexion.
Complexion
Peter Philips applied the same skin and beauty routine as for the women. He began by “moisturizing the eye area with Dior Les Patchs Yeux, then prepping the skin with the Dior Capture routine, using Le Sérum followed by La Crème Fine. Likewise, the complexion was evened out with Dior Forever Skin Glow, then Dior Forever Skin Correct was applied for touch-ups. A spray of Dior Backstage Air Flash Mist set the complexion and added freshness.”
Eyes
Eyebrows were tidied with Diorshow Brow Styler and Diorshow On Set Brow.
Hands
Hands and nails were moisturized with Dior Huile Abricot and Dior Le Baume.
Hair
Hair looked natural, in a tousled style for a cool effect. Some models wore Philip Treacy headpiecies, featuring oversized lettering composing words such as “Star” and “Dior”, that sat on the top of the models’ heads.
