Japanese Shochu is a distilled spirit usually made from either sweet potato (Imo) or barley (Mugi) or rice (Kome) or black sugar (Kokuto) or buckwheat (Soda), etc. with the objective of showcasing the flavours from the underlying ingredient. Mizunara: The Shop and Honjo, (Pirata Group’s latest contemporary Dining space inspired by Japanese Cuisine)  have collaborated to offer a memorable “sharing pairing” dinner for you.

Kakimoto San of Mizunara is a certified Shochu Meister, born and brought up in the Shochu heartland of Kagoshima, Japan. She will walk you through the basics of Shochu and guide you through the tasting process.
